We use Flodesk (https://flodesk.com/) for our newsletter signup form. Submission data will be retained by us (for the purposes of delivering the newsletter). Cookies
Like most e-commerce sites on the internet, we use cookies to maintain information about your current session on the site. This includes, but is not limited to:
- The contents of your cart
- A session code
- Products that you may have recently viewed
- A record of notices you may have dismissed
The cookies we collect do not contain personally identifiable information.
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
Analytics
This website uses Google Analytics (https://analytics.withgoogle.com/) to track visitors as they move across the web. We may share some or all of the data we collect with Google, including but not limited to your IP address (which in most cases can be used to determine your geographic location), information about the device you’ve used to access the site, the pages you visit on our site, and the products you have purchased/viewed.
Who we share your data with & how long we retain it
Aside from sharing limited data with Google Analytics, Flodesk, and our payment processor as described elsewhere in this policy, we don’t share your data with anyone, and we will never sell or rent your data.
For users that register on our website (if any), we store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
Our hosting provider maintains a rolling backup of our server going back one month. As a result, any data that is stored on our servers and is mentioned to be deleted elsewhere in this policy could potentially be restored and accessed for one month past the date when it was deleted from the site.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Your contact information
We collect contact information for the purposes of fulfilling purchases. Your billing information may be shared with our payment processor/gateway for the purposes of verifying that the use of your credit card is authorized. If you are given the opportunity to store your credit card, the card information will be stored securely with the payment processor.
How we protect your data
Along with keeping track of things like the items that you have stored in your cart, we may temporarily store your name and billing/shipping addresses on our servers during the checkout process, so you only have to enter it once. All temporary data of this nature will be automatically deleted from our servers if you don’t complete your purchase within two days.
We never receive or store any credit card information to our servers, and all purchase information is always protected with industry standard SSL encryption during transit to and in storage on our payment processor’s servers.
Your payment information is encrypted and stored on the payment processor’s servers. Once your purchase is completed, we retain only your email address and a token on our servers.
The token we keep on our servers works as a placeholder for your payment information. It is specific to you as the customer, specific to this website, specific to our payment gateway’s payment processor, and specific to our merchant account with that processor. It can’t be used in any other context. In the event of a data breach of our servers, the tokens would be essentially useless.
